Former Parlor Pizzeria Chefs Jared Porter and Joe Absolor to open modern Asian concept The Clever Koi in Central Phoe- nix in late November. These nationally-ac- claimed chefs partner with co-owners Joshua James (Beverage Director) and Nicholas Campisano (General Manager) to create a recipe for success this fall. The Clever Koi is a modern take on a tra- ditional Asian concept that delivers a unique approach to classic flavors and techniques. A seasonally and locally re- fined menu that will include steamed buns, house made dumplings and pro- gressive noodle dishes reflecting regions such as Thailand, Korea, China, Vietnam, Japan and Indo-China. This comfortable urban setting will feature craft cocktails on tap, house made shrubs, eclectic im- ported beers and sakes to round out the palate creating a unique dining experi- ence in the Central Phoenix Corridor.
“We wanted to do something innovative and provide something that was not cur- rently represented in our community,” said Chef Porter. “My philosophy is to elevate food not tamper with high quality ingre- dients and flavor combinations. We cook for the people as if we were cooking for our families – from the heart – and let the food speak for itself.”
