Downtown Art Show to Feature Community Artists Using ‘Different Strokes’

The Lab Pop-Up Gallery on Grand Avenue will feature a collection of artwork created by local artists in their upcoming community art exhibition. The show, titled ‘Different Strokes’, will kick off with an Opening Reception on Friday, April 17.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of art work, in various mediums and styles, created by Valley artists – Mark Peoples (@markpeoplestattoos), Chipp Ewa (@oldmanmuddbutt) and Sebastian Gely (@properhope).

Peoples, a professional tattoo artist, will showcase traditional Japanese style tattoo artwork using acrylics on watercolor paper; Ewa, also a tattoo artist by trade, considers his work to be “lowbrow” and illustrative, which will consist primarily of drawings and sketches using pencil, ink, watercolors, acrylic and paint markers; Gely will showcase still lifes and portraits using pencil, charcoal, graphite, ink and acrylics.

All artwork featured will be open to the public for sale.  Community artists interested in serving as a monthly spotlight artist at The Lab Pop-Up Gallery may contact Monica Robles at monicarobles1@gmail.com.

Admission is FREE –live music by M. Rocka, light refreshments will be available.
