A wave of hip businesses have taken up residence at the mixed-use 111 W. Monroe building since the mid-century modern property started undergoing a massive restoration and renovation project last fall. A wine shop, a music store, a vintage, couture clothing boutique and a tech company are the latest to join the eclectic tenant mix which already includes Uber’s Arizona headquarters, D.J. Fernandes’ latest outpost ‘Mornin’ Moonshine’ and a vibrant network of tech, creative design and architecture firms. This Summer, Hidden Track Bottle Shop, Esoteric Audio, Black Cat Vintage and Inspire Data Solutions will bring new offerings to Downtown Phoenix, enhancing the neighborhood’s food, beverage and retail amenities while also growing the tech and entrepreneurial hub that’s rapidly taking shape.
“As our business grows, our client base has expanded from the Scottsdale area to all over the Greater Phoenix Metro so moving to downtown Phoenix was a natural progression”
“While we are excited to be launching a new store we are even more pleased to be part of the revitalization of downtown Phoenix,” said Andrew Papanikolas, Founder of Esoteric Audio. “With the continued redevelopment of the downtown core and the influx of new residents and businesses, we see a tremendous opportunity and are proud to be one of the first high-end boutique retailers to establish in the area since the 1960s,” he said.
“As our business grows, our client base has expanded from the Scottsdale area to all over the Greater Phoenix Metro so moving to downtown Phoenix was a natural progression,” says Santos Garcia, President + Founder at Inspire Data Solutions . “The 111 W. Monroe Building fit our requirements for an energetic, modern, entrepreneurial community. The old school, historical feel and great value made it a perfect place to nurture our growth. Being in the same building with companies like Uber and Cannon Design just enhance the appeal and make it an even more exciting transition.”
Like Esoteric Audio, both Hidden Track and Black Cat Vintage were attracted to the building for its unmatched location, distinctive design and thoughtful renovations to the exterior ground floor, interior lobby, landscaping, signage and valet parking garage. Several of the tenants of 111 W. Monroe have opted to relocate or headquarter their businesses in Downtown Phoenix after observing the recent growth and development of the area and the significant resources and support offered by the City of Phoenix and various local organizations designed to help downtown businesses prosper.
“We have focused our efforts on bringing together a mix of local and national tenants that share a passion for revitalizing Phoenix’ urban core,” said Tim O’Neil, an owner of the Monroe building. “The building restoration is designed to raise the bar for architecturally-significant properties in the Central Corridor, offering a destination that includes both institutional grade facilities and a local, boutique experience. We are thrilled with the businesses who have decided to plant their roots here,” he said.

Bottle Track Wine Shop Hidden Track Bottle Shop was inspired by numerous encounters with friends and strangers over a glass of wine, and conversations that asked “Where did you find this wine?” or “Where can I get this bottle?” The owners’ combined 20 years of wine industry experience brings simple lessons to sharing a carefully selected reserve at comfortable price points with patrons: wine is beautiful, it is simple, it is historic, and it is an agricultural product that should be enjoyed to the fullest. Just as important, price does not determine quality. Your pallet will tell you what it likes – if you don’t like it, don’t drink it!
