Keep Phoenix Beautiful Celebrates 6th Annual Earth Day Phoenix

Keep Phoenix Beautiful will host the 6th annual Earth Day Festival, presented by Republic Services, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25th, located at PHX Renews, the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Indian School Road.  “We consider it a privilege to serve our customers and create effortless experiences to support their evolving needs and honor their commitments to their communities,” said Bob Bennett, general manager for Republic Services in Phoenix.  “Earth Day is an excellent opportunity to come together and take responsibility for the environment on a local level.” Republic Services will be offering composting samples and a sunflower in a jar giveaway at Earth Day Phoenix.

PHX Renews will be filled with many other local exhibitors as well. There will be nonprofits, businesses, and city, state and county departments. Exhibitors will be providing information and relevant giveaways with a core message of sustainability. From solar energy, recycling, to gardening our exhibitors are on site to provide resources and information on how you can live sustainably!

The Earth Day Phoenix Festival will also feature a SunUp Brewing Beer Garden, along with food trucks from Naturally Sweet, Emerson Fry Bread and Island Loco. Attendees will have access to short educational composting seminars throughout the day, rain barrel construction and giveaways from Coco-Cola Co. & Watershed Management Group, as well as tours of the SHADE solar exhibit home built by Arizona State University students! Be there early to watch the ceremonial tree planting with the Arizona Super Bowl Team and NFL Environment at 11amwith Mayor Greg Stanton followed by the Rhythm is Life Steel Drum Band! Reduce your carbon footprint on Earth Day! Limited parking is available at Steele Indian School Park and alternative modes of transportation such as light rail and biking is highly recommended. Keep Phoenix Beautiful has teamed up with Uber and their #DitchYourKeys campaign for Earth Day! New Uber riders can get their first ride free up to $20 by using code EarthDayPHX – and a $5 donation from Uber will be made to Keep Phoenix Beautiful!
